Hello! We at the Prospectus strive and emphasize being transparent, accurate, and truthful, as all media outlets should–and because of that, we have decided that we owe it to our audience to come out with a statement in hopes of giving you a better understanding of what has been happening behind the scenes.
Unfortunately, the Prospectus has been in a transitional period for the past couple of years due to the pandemic. Currently, we are working towards returning to what we consider our standard, which is consistently producing high-quality, informative articles for our readers.
We admit and acknowledge that we have not been meeting our expectations, and–though we do not condone blame culture at the Prospectus–there is no hiding the limitations of having a revolving door of adult supervisors for the past couple of years. We want to make it clear that we do not blame any of our adult supervisors; we wholeheartedly believe each one did the best they could given the situation each of them was thrown into.
We would like to shout out and thank Kassidy Scott, our former Editor-in-Chief, and Sidney Megeff, our former interim adult supervisor for practically keeping the Prospectus alive when no one else wanted to.
We would also like to give a shout-out to our new members, who are helping build this new era of the Prospectus: Fiona (reporter/photographer), Madeline (reporter), Sarah (reporter), and Trista (editor). We encourage you to go to our Meet the Staff page to get to know our new members. Soon enough, if not already, you will be able to read and enjoy the hard work they are putting into their upcoming articles.
Lastly, we want to shout out our first non-interim adult supervisor in quite a while, Eric Shell, for giving our team the foundation and full support we need to stay up to par. Without the help of these people, what we are striving to achieve would not be possible.
To finish, we want to share our new mission statement that the latest rendition of the Prospectus came up with and decided on.
