BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Parkland College women’s soccer team couldn’t get the job done on the road Tuesday night, losing 2-1 to the Olivet Nazarene reserves. Becky Painter had nine saves in the losing effort, giving her a total of 99 saves in the season so far.
The Cobras (4-12-1) got pounced on early in, allowing the Tigers to score in the 5th minute before settling into the game. The match remained 1-0 at halftime, but even Olivet Nazarene couldn’t keep Izzy Fritz quiet for 90 minutes, as the sophomore from Bourbonnais tied the game up in her hometown in the 68th minute. The Tigers quickly responded, however, scoring in the 69th and shutting down the Cobras offense for the rest of the night.
