CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Over this last weekend, Parkland Men’s Golf Head Coach Corbin Sebens was inducted into the Monticello High School Sports Hall of Fame. Sebens attended Monticello from 2004-2008, where he was a 10-time varsity letter winner in golf, basketball and baseball. Sebens was most noted for his golf abilities though, winning four straight Okaw Valley championships, two individual regional titles and one team regional championship. Sebens was a News Gazette All-Area selection three times and qualified for state during his senior year.
Since becoming the head coach at Parkland in 2013, the Cobras have qualified for the national championship five times, including three top-5 finishes and winning the title in 2021; won 34 tournaments, seven conference championships and four regional championships, and had 20 golfers earn All-America accolades.
“What a special night!” Sebens said about the induction. “I have made a lot of memories inside the walls at Monticello High School, now to be recognized on those walls means so much to me. Monticello will always be home! I am very honored to be a part of this Hall of Fame class.”
