Champaign’s very first adult Easter egg hunt will take place this Saturday, April 1. This event is hosted by Danielle Griffin, a local business owner, and entrepreneur, and with support from her husband Martaz Davis.
Tickets for the event are $25-$35 and are available to buy until Saturday. The six-hour event will open at noon with the actual egg hunt taking place at 2pm. Along with the hunt and various prizes that can be won, people can expect local food vendors as well as other businesses at the event where people can network as well as shop for goods.
One of the businesses you can win prizes from is nuEra. Griffin has also put together giveaway contests that will take place both before and after the hunt. Griffin has advised those coming to be prepared to have fun and maybe even get a little dirty from some of the contests she has prepared.
This event, to Griffin’s knowledge, is the first one to take place in Champaign and she plans to continue this every year for the years to come.”We plan to make this a yearly event and make each one bigger!” said Griffin. As for her inspiration for the event, Griffin wanted to create an opportunity to bring the community together and give small businesses the chance to grow and attract new customers. “People can expect to have FUN. This town doesn’t see that much, and ultimately, it’s for everyone to come together as a community, help small businesses out and support one another, and have fun for once while doing it all!” said Griffin. Griffin has done a lot of events in the past, but this is her biggest yet.
Once again this is an adults-only event so leave the kids at home and come to the Champaign County Fairgrounds.
