The traveling cookie food truck from Wichita, Kansas I Heart Cookies came to the County Market parking lot in Rantoul on Sunday, November 5th.
What makes the food truck so unique aside from it’s choice in food is the entertainment it brings with it.
The Transformers: Bumblebee and Optimus Prime
The company’s four trucks bring along fun-themed guests every visit. Right now they are traveling with two of the most popular transformers. Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. The transformers are there for visitors to take their pictures with. Both kids and adults are welcome to get in on the fun.
Some of the kids brought Bumblebee themed toys or dressed in costume.
Bumblebee was present in Rantoul. If the line to see him was any indication of people’s excitement then the roughly 30 people long line should tell you how popular the transformer was.
While people took their pictures Bumblebee danced to the music playing on the stereo set up next to him.
On top of the transformers they also occasionally have life sized animatronic dinosaurs set up at the trucks for people to see and interact with.
The Cookies of I Heart Cookies
One of the people running the truck, Ryan Ecton, said that they have 50 different flavor cookies but can’t carry them all at one time. Instead they travel with a specific nine and have deals: $25 for 6 and all 9 for $40.
The flavors they brought were Snickerdoodle Cinnamon Roll, Milk Chocolate Chip, Reese’s Peanut Butter Chip, Chunky Monkey, Pumpkin Spice Snickerdoodle, Buttercream Sugar Cookie, Caramel Cream Sugar Cookie, Monster Cookie, and Mint Brownie.
They also had two gluten free options with Gluten-Free Snickerdoodle Cinnamon Roll and Gluten-Free Pumpkin Spice Snickerdoodle.
Oh the Places They Go
Ecton said that the company travels all over the country and goes to a new place each week. He said that he thinks the coolest place they’ve been is Texas but he’s only been as far as Illinois.
They had a truck in Monticello they same day they were in Rantoul. On Monday, November 6th they had a truck in Mahomet. Optimus Prime was with the truck in Monticello and Bumblebee was present in Mahomet.
