SOUTH HOLLAND, Ill. – The No. 18 ranked Parkland College Baseball team powered past South Suburban College on Tuesday, April 11th, taking down the Bulldogs 12-7 in a nine-inning road game. The Cobras (25-8) outhit the Bulldogs 18-7 on Tuesday, holding South Suburban without an extra-base hit while Parkland freshman Ty Hollandsworth (2-5, HR, RBI, 2 R) and sophomore Austin Gomm (3-6, HR, 2 R, 2 SB) each hit a home run in the win. Reigning NJCAA DII Baseball Player of the Week, Chase Becker (2-0) earned the win for the Cobras, allowing just one earned run on four hits and two walks in five innings of work in his second start.
Up next, Parkland hosts a doubleheader against Danville Area Community College on Friday, April 14th, the first two games at the Parkland College Baseball Field this season. First pitch against the Jaguars (12-14) (7-9) is scheduled for noon on Friday.

The Cobras opened the game with a 1-0 lead after first basemen Logan Reidelberger (2-6, RBI, R) drove in Jackson Blemler, and Parkland doubled its lead in the top of the 2nd inning when Blemler (4-6, RBI, 2 R) lined an RBI single up the middle, scoring Josh Outlaw (2-4, 2B, 2 R).
The Bulldogs (22-13) rallied in the bottom of the 2nd, quickly taking a 3-2 lead, but Hollandsworth and Gomm went deep in the top of the 4th, and the Cobras regained a 5-3 lead. Parkland extended its advantage in the 6th, driving in five runs on four hits to lead 10-3. South Suburban threatened to make it close late, scoring two in the bottom of the 7th and 9th, but Parkland knocked in two insurance runs in the top of the 9th, and the Cobras closed out the Bulldogs in the 12-7 road win on Tuesday evening.
