BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The No. 18 ranked Parkland College Baseball team secured another road victory versus Illinois Wesleyan University JV on Wednesday, April 5th, as the Cobras defeated the Titans 9-1. The Cobras (24-8) surrendered just two hits in Bloomington on Wednesday evening, outhitting the Titans by eight, while NJCAA DII Baseball Player of the Week Chase Becker (4.0 IP, 2 H, 1 ER) picked up his first win of the season on the mound. First basemen Logan Reidelberger led the Cobras with three RBI and five total bases in the win.
Up next, Parkland travels to South Suburban College on Tuesday, April 11th, for a road game in South Holland, Illinois. First pitch against the Division I Bulldogs (19-12) is scheduled for 3:30 PM on Tuesday.

The Cobras took a 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning after a 2-run home run from Logan Reidelberger (2-5, HR, 3 RBI, 2 R), but the Titans got one back in the bottom half. Freshman Chase Becker (1-3, HR, 2 RBI, 2 BB) launched a solo home run in the 3rd to put Parkland up 3-1, and the Cobras led 7-1 after the top of the 5th. The Cobras extended their lead in the top of the 6th, and Parkland’s pitching staff shut down IWU the rest of the way as the team won 9-1 in game one.
Starting pitcher Chase Becker (1-0) struck out five batters in his first start, allowing just one earned run on two hits and five walks over four innings of work. Freshman Freddie Elftmann (1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER) made his fourth appearance in the 5th inning, and Sebastian Gutierrez relieved him in the 6th. Redshirt sophomore Nathan Waldridge (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER) entered in the bottom of the 7th, and sophomores Gehrig Wright and Louis Stallone each faced two batters, closing out the win.
