NORMAL, Ill. – The No. 3 Parkland College volleyball team (28-3) (5-0) competed in its fifth Mid-West Athletic Conference match of the season against Heartland Community College (16-2) (4-1) and came away with a very tense win 27-29, 25-19, 18-25, 26-24, 16-14. The Cobras are now on a 10-match winning streak.
The Cobras lost the opening set in overtime, 29-27, but quickly battled back, winning the second set 25-19. Unforced errors cost Parkland most of the third set and soon Heartland was up 2 sets to 1 after winning, 25-18. The third set, like the first, went into overtime but this time the Cobras prevailed, 26-24, and forced a match-deciding fifth set. In the end, the Cobras outlasted the Hawks 16-14 to pick up their fifth consecutive conference win of the season.

Up Next Parkland travels to Ina, Ill. to compete in the Rend Lake Tri on Saturday, October 2. The Cobras are set to play Rend Lake College at 1:00 PM and Southeastern Illinois College and 3:00 PM.
