NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – The No. 4 ranked Parkland College golf team battled high winds and several NAIA schools on day one of the Purgatory Intercollegiate, occupying third place after a round one team score of 304 (+16) at the Par 72 Purgatory Golf Club. The tournament hosts, Taylor University, lead the competition at 294 (+6), with St. Thomas – FL right behind at 297 (+9). Parkland sophomore Dain Richie leads the team after an even-par 72 on Friday, putting him in second, while Cobras Roo Fenwick and Michael Addie are tied for 13th after round one scores of 76 (+4).
Up next, the Cobras wrap up the Purgatory Intercollegiate tomorrow, April 1st, with one more round at the Purgatory Golf Club. Conditions are expected to remain difficult all weekend.
