LINCOLN, Ill. – The Parkland’s men’s soccer team won against Lincoln College Junior Varsity on Wednesday afternoon, 2-1 thanks to two goals from Jonathan Velasquez.
The Cobras (9-2-1) couldn’t break through in the first half, recording just two shots on goal. It wasn’t until the 63rd minute when Ben Martin set up the sophomore from Lincoln, NE for his first goal that the Lynx trailed. Velasquez wasn’t done, however, scoring just 13 minutes later thanks to an assist from Yamato Kline. Lincoln College JV did get one back though, in the 80th minute from the penalty spot against backup goalkeeper Sebastian Staddon.
