Within two years of forming, the four-piece band, Triality, collaborated with Perimeter Road to release its first single in December, “Lovestruck.”
The indie rock band, which formed in 2023, went through a long brainstorming process to decide on its final moniker. Lead singer Jaden Campbell explains that there were several names the group cycled through including, “last man standing, or dazed…”
But they struck gold when their bassist came up with the name that stuck: “[Our] bassist, Zachary Hay was like, Triality. And we were like, ‘why?’ Is there like a meaning behind it? And he was like, it just sounds cool. And we all just kind of, I think we just irrationally, were like, Yeah, that sounds cool.” The band had a pretty interesting start, that being when Campbell’s dad cleaned out the garage. “And so I took a picture of my garage and put it on my Snapchat story. And was like … it would really be nice to have a band here, you know, question mark.”
The current members are: Zachary Hay (bass/drums), Isaac Carley (lead guitar), Tim Dager (rhythm guitar) and Jaden Campbell (vocals). Campbell says that the band mainly steps into “…indie rock and punk rock.” And that is exactly what you will see in their first released song, “Lovestruck.”

Hays and a former bandmate, Jack Barnhart, were the two people to produce Lovestruck. Campbell explains the start of the process by saying, “And it all started with that, just that bass line, And then Jack, kind of, well, first Jack made the whole strumming pattern and started strumming it. And then I backed it up with some improv vocals, like Lovestruck does not sound like it does in the beginning. It was a lot of humming with me, and just like, hmm. And then I started, like, just improving words.”
Campbell states that he did the majority of the lyric writing with some help from Hays. After refinement, Lovestruck came to be what it is today. In order to get it recorded and released, they sought out help from Parkland’s record label — Perimeter Road.
This process took a lot of time, with Campbell explaining, “October is when we were like, okay, we’re gonna get this started, you know? And we kind of set the groundwork for that. And then November was like, okay, game time. Like we were, we were punching everything out. And then December was like the release”. Adam Porter, the faculty advisor of the record label, helped out greatly in the band’s effort to get this song released.
In the studio, they worked hard to record a song they had become so passionate about.
Campbell explains, “…luckily, Zach is so talented, he plays both drums and bass. So he did the drums for it. And then we had Isaac do his solo, and everything was kind of like, chopped where we didn’t all play together. Everyone did their own little part, and then we just kind of put it all together. And then I was last, because vocals are always last apparently in the music making process.”

Talking about the final lyrics of the song, Campbell goes into detail, explaining the song is about being infatuated with someone, saying, “…it’s just like, really being infatuated with somebody, and then they wind up, you know, leaving your life…”

When on stage, their performances always start with nerves for Campbell, sometimes getting so nervous he forgets the lyrics until he gets on stage and starts singing, “…always, when I get up there, [and the] music starts it like, it just comes back to me. It’s like, the fear just leaves my body at that point”. But the highlight of performing for Campbell is “is being able to, not only that, do it in front of an audience of just different people from different walks of life, but once the show is all over, you get to talk to these people, and you get to be able to make connections, relationships.”
Speaking of performances, their next one is on March 31 in Indiana at The Nest, while their next one close to home is April 10 at a charity event hosted by Concordia. There are also plans to release an album by the end of 2026 with Campbell simply stating, “stay tuned.”
